Meet People and New Friends
It’s a great pleasure to be here today. I `m very glad to share with you my ideas of college life. Today my topic is “Meet People and New Friends ”. I hope you will enjoy my speech, and found the importance in my short speech so that more cherish it.
When you just moved into your college dorm and you realize that you have just left behind everyone you know.Part of you can’t wait to start meeting new people. But the other part is unsure how to find friends on the college.
Here is two pieces of advice. Frist, Opening doors to new friendships. You can increase your odds of making friends by leaving your dorm room door open when you’re studying or hanging out.(But, do not forget to lock the door when you are not in the room.) This will communicate to people that you are approachable and open to new friends.So they can drop by to say “hello” or ask about a homework assignment.
Second, striking up School Sprit. An opportunity to meet people outside your dorm is at University-sponsored events for freshman or the general student body. Some people blow off events like the freshman barbeque or floor meetings, claiming they are to juvenile. However, I think they are wrong.
Then, it’s really my honor to have the opportunity for this speech. I hope I can make a good performance today and I’m confident that I can succeed. Now I will introduce myself briefly :My name is Wu Yamei, majoring in garden. I graduated from Taihu senior high school of Jiangsu Province . Full of curiosity and expectation,I came to NanTong. I am convinced that college is a turning point in my life. So in class, I listen to my teacher very attentively, trying to seize every opportunity to enrich my knowledge. In my spare time, I like to do anything relating to English such as listening to English songs, watching English movies or TV programs. I wish I can speak fluent English . All in all, I won’t idle away my college days.
