营养学在澳洲是一个热门专业，也是比较发达的学科。一般来说，本科四年，研究生两年。大多综合性大学中都设有此专业，由于澳洲没有大学专业排名，所以建议选择综合排名比较靠前的学校。关于营养学的详细介绍请见下文（英文版）。 Dietetics in Australia In Australia, the profession of dietetics contributes to the promotion of health and the prevention and treatment of illness by optimising the nutrition of communities and individuals. It utilises scientific principles and methods in the study of nutrition and applies these to influencing the wider environment affecting food intakes and eating behaviours. Dietitians must understand the: biochemical, physiological and psychological factors that relate to human nutrition in health and disease; principles of education and communication; and principles of organisation and management. The majority of dietitians in Australia are employed in public hospitals, private hospitals and community health centres. Employment is also available in the food industry where a dietitian may be responsible for advising a company on the nutritional content and development and marketing of their products or may be involved in the occupational health and safety area. Some dietitians may be engaged in research work in universities, hospitals or for industry. Recently there has been an increase in the number of dietitians in private practice and the health and fitness industry. To be eligible for membership of the appropriate professional body, the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA), and to be accredited as an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD), dietitians trained in Australia must complete: an approved Bachelor of Science degree course (or equivalent), majoring in appropriate subjects at a university or other tertiary institution; and a graduate diploma or post-graduate degree course in dietetics of one or two years; or an approved four-year undergraduate degree majoring in nutrition and dietetics. Australian tertiary institutions which provide appropriate dietetics training include: Curtin University of Technology (Perth, Western Australia); Queensland University of Technology (Brisbane, Queensland); Griffith University (Gold Coast, Queensland); Deakin University (Melbourne, Victoria), Flinders University (Adelaide, South Australia), The University of Sydney (Sydney, New South Wales); The University of Wollongong (Wollongong, New South Wales); and The University of Newcastle (Newcastle, New South Wales). Who can Become a Member? There are the following classes of membership of DAA: Members with Dietetic Qualifications; and Members without Dietetic Qualifications. Members with Dietetic Qualifications To be eligible for membership of DAA, one of the following is required: an approved Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent qualification) plus a postgraduate degree in nutrition and dietetics from a DAA accredited institution; an approved undergraduate degree in nutrition and dietetics from a DAA accredited institution; a student undertaking a DAA accredited nutrition and dietetic course; or successful completion of the dietetics examination administered by the Dietitians Association of Australia. Members without Dietetic Qualifications (Associate Member) To be eligible the following is required: human nutrition qualification from any Australian university or equivalent organisation in Australia, e.g. postgraduate or undergraduate university level degree in food and human nutrition, food science/technology; other courses as deemed appropriate by DAA; a degree in a related field and evidence of a significant contribution to food and human nutrition in Australia; or a student with evidence of enrolment in a human nutrition degree at an Australian university as deemed appropriate by DAA. Dietetic Courses in Australian Universities Dietitians must have graduated from a DAA accredited course to be eligible for membership of DAA and to participate in the APD Program.
