Serious Sam系列作为另类的FPS游戏，一直受到玩家的喜爱。这次在三年的漫长等待中，新作终于要亮相了。
《Serious Sam II》运行于全新的Serious引擎上，各方面效果完全超越二次出击。上一集我们看到San时，他正在天狼星和最终BOSS'Mental'苦战中，有一位天狼星的向导想帮助我们的Sam去消灭Mental。他们把Sam送去收集分散的充满神奇力量的徽章，这些神秘的东西可以带给Sam无穷的力量去打败Mental。Sam的又一次冒险就此展开。《Serious Sam II》的剧情倒不是主要的，玩家想从《Serious Sam II》中得到的是前所未有的感官上的刺激。

同时，《Serious Sam II》将会超越第一人称动作射击游戏。当你亲临游戏时，你就会明白为什么会这样说了：大批的奇形怪状的动物植物敌人，潮水般疯狂的攻击你。敌人的设定夸张而不失个性：上链的双角犀牛， 红色的恶魔火球，高科技的外星人，恶心的僵尸和绿怪人，炸弹小丑， 南瓜头链锯魔鬼，最搞笑的还是那个炸弹人，它们一边微笑一边冲到你身边来自爆。开发商Croteam表示，游戏中将会同屏显示更多的敌人在《Serious Sam II》中，更加美轮美奂的战斗场景，这全靠那强大的引擎支持，怪物和植物的细节将会更加的丰富细腻，贴图也会更加的清晰，萨姆将要用全新的武器去对付45种全新的敌人。目前为此，已经知道的有：双枪，萨姆标记的加农炮，火箭筒和声名狼藉的Serious炸弹。这次游戏的交通工具也是一大亮点之一，玩家在感受杀戮快感的同时，还可体验一下风驰电掣的速度感，像传统的山地车，很有未来感的光速车，全副武装的战斗车，甚至还可以驾驶动物来游戏。
想要详细去定义《Serious Sam II》的游戏类型并不是一件困难的事，但是因为游戏本身的所特有的个性，甚至几年以后，在成百上千种第一人称射击游戏中，只有很少的一部分游戏可以与其相比，更不用说英雄萨姆表现出来的黑色幽默感，对于《Serious Sam》系列来说。小编觉得真正可比性的是《painkiller》，但那款游戏玩起来并不搞笑，只有无尽的杀戮。
