上海世博会英国馆被称之为“创意之馆（a Pavilion of Ideas）”，其设计展现了一个简洁而又引人入胜的建筑模式，最大的亮点是建筑外部大量向各个方向伸展的触须。这些触须顶端都带有一个细小的彩色光源，可以组合成多种图案和颜色。所有的触须将会随风轻微摇动，使展馆表面形成各种可变幻的光泽和色彩。同时，展馆表面还可以通过信息和图像的形式展示英国展馆内部的情况，使馆外的参观者也能看到展馆内部的各项活动。英国馆不仅独具创意，同时还将十分注重与游客的互动。在整个上海世博会期间，英国馆将及时收集参观者的想法和意见，随时调整馆内的展示内容和活动。“因此，英国馆不是一成不变的，将很有可能在世博会召开的6个月时间里，以不同的面貌展现给参观者。”　　　　　　　　　　　创意之馆的设计方案不仅赢得了由英国建筑设计行业领军人物组成的英国评审团的肯定，也得到了广大上海市民的好评。在今年8月上海举行的上海世博会英国馆备选设计方案展示活动中，上海市民通过现场参观评选，对六个备选方案进行了投票，其中“创意之馆”获得了最高的票数 英国馆由我省苏中建设集团股份有限公司承担建设，总建筑面积为2455平方米，将到2010年2月底建设完成，是江苏企业承担的建设周期长、技术要求高的世博场馆之一。世博会期间，如果您到世博园区，一定要到英国馆亲眼目睹苏中建设能工巧匠们精湛的建筑杰作。
