Jessica misses some of the food she used to eat in Colombia. She misses her mother's coconut rice the most. But she likes the supermarkets and restaurants in her new neighborhood very much. When she has time, she likes to walk slowly around a supermarket and look at all the different kinds of delicious food they have. And she loves to taste new things. Last night, she tried an avocado, a Thai chicken salad, and some grilled swordfish for the first time, and they were all delicious.
Jessica really likes eating at new restaurants. But tonight she isn't going to a restaurant. She is going to stay home and cook. She is going to surprise her family by making her special Colombian soup. She is going to include some pieces of chicken and a few carrots. She is going to add a couple of potatoes, a tomato, and some mushrooms. And then she's going to put in a little salt and some special Colombian spices. It is going to be delicious!
