1. other 作为修饰语，修饰名词，一般是复数，

   如：Other students don's understand. 其他某些同学不明白。

   注意这里other表示其他某些，不表示剩下全部的人，是剩下人的一部分。

2. 对比上面的other，the other 表示剩下全部的人，

   如：Lucy and Lily are twins，the other students are not.

          路西和丽丽是双胞胎，其他人不是。

3. others是名词，不是修饰语，表示其他一些人，等同于other+名词复数

   如：Some of them want to go home,others don't.

          一些人想回家，其他一些人不想。

4. another表示另外一些（个），或者又一些（个）。

   如：A passenger goes into the restroom，as time passes，another one comes.
