为什么把Power function翻译成幂函数

用幂字有什么学问，有什么讲究?幂和power之间有什么相似性？幂：1.覆盖东西的巾。2.覆盖，遮盖。在中文里，幂字主要是指盖，既有动作的意思，也有名词盖的东西幂函数的一个特点就是它的指数English : A number or symbol, as 3 in (x + y)3, placed to the right of and above another number, symbol, or expression, denoting the power to which that number, symbol, or expression is to be raised. Also called power.汉语里用幂，个人感觉只考虑到指数的位置，也就是"盖在"another number, symbol, or expression的右上角的数字.又：英文里指数是exponent：ex - out of;pon-:position->暴露位置的就是说，那个指数是暴露自己的位置在another number, symbol, or expression的右上角.而且这个暴露位置的数字，denoting the power to which that number, symbol, or expression is to be raised，所以被称为power这个解释怎么样？---幂函数的指数是常数,首先y=x是一个函数，其次，在幂函数里，指数部分是一个常量。类似于覆盖在函数右上角的东西，这不就和幂字联系上了吗 - 〉被覆盖着的函数---幂函数和指数函数的区别是什么呢？x在指数函数里面，是指数，是exponential,是power
