including the first-ever Olympic gold medal for Hong Kong and the first champion in the Asian Games representing Hong Kong
China. She was a recipient of the Ten Outstanding Young Person's Award and Bronze Bauhinia Star Award in recognition of her outstanding achievements in international sports scene. 李丽珊，BBS，MH，MBE（1970年9月5日－），外号珊珊（广东话读作saan1 saan4，山潺），生于中国香港，为长洲原居民。她为中国香港取得历史性首面奥运会奖牌，更取得金牌（滑浪风帆），因而被传媒冠以「风之后」的美誉，曾有热带气旋以她命名，卡通片亦加入她的角色，被视为中国香港最知名的运动员。 李丽珊自幼在舅父黎根的指导下练习滑浪风帆，17岁开始参加比赛，19岁（1989年）成为中国香港代表队成员，教练是艾培理。 她多年来获得数个国际比赛奖项，曾在1996年阿特兰大奥运会夺得中国香港历史上首面奥运会金牌，消息轰动中国香港，当时她居住的岛屿长洲举行万人祝捷会，电视台从她落机抵港一直全程直播，这面金牌曾一度在中国香港牵起学习滑浪风帆热潮，她夺奖后激动地向记者说：「中国香港运动员唔系垃圾」（中国香港运动员不是垃圾），成为传颂一时的名句。事源是李丽珊在1990年代一次代表中国香港参加欧洲滑浪风帆锦标赛时，本来大会想让出多一点非欧洲人士藉位与不同人士参加，但后来报到者超过限额60人；引来一些欧洲参赛者对一众中国香港代表的微言，直指中国香港运动员是垃圾，为何还要抢夺参赛资格，直至好此次夺奖才一吐乌气。 Lee Lai-Shan (traditional Chinese: 李丽珊) (born September 5

the 1996 Summer Olympics was the last international sporting event that Hong Kong participated in as a British colony
making Lee's medal the first and last medal that the Hong Kong team (not Hong Kong
