Most (buildings, or the case that buildings serve to keep the weather out) do such an "effective" job ( actually a BAD job) that they also inadvertently deprive (prevent/keep) us of contact with two key requirements for our well-being and effectiveness: nature and change

但具体是不是讽刺，还得看上下文。
